USTransit 1.8

USTransit is a mobile application developed collaboratively by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and its alumni. This tool provides HKUST users with estimated waiting times for green minibuses and buses, allowing the community to better anticipate and prepare for their trips.

Real-time Arrival Forecast

• The app encompasses minibus routes 11, 11M, 11S, and 12, as well as bus route 792M, all serving the HKUST campus. This feature equips staff and students with essential real-time traffic information, enhancing their ability to make informed transportation decisions.

Real-time Location of Green Minibuses

• Users can access estimated arrival times for the included minibuses, alongside their current locations, thereby improving the overall transit experience.

Real-time and Interactive Minibus Route

• The interactive minibus route map allows users to quickly check the schedules of the next three minibuses at each station, along with real-time traffic updates, ensuring staff and students can efficiently navigate the transport situation.

Arrival Reminder

• To avoid unnecessary waiting at bus stops, users can utilize the reminder function to alert them when it's time to depart for the minibus stop.

Get-off Reminder

• The reminder function can also notify users about when and where to disembark from their minibus, adding convenience to their travel experience.

Supporting VoiceOver

• USTransit incorporates voiceover functionality to assist visually impaired users. This inclusive design fosters greater accessibility to public transport services.

Shuttle Bus & Staff Shuttle Service

• The app provides up-to-date schedules for both shuttle buses and staff shuttles, facilitating easier transportation planning for students and faculty alike.

Other HKUST Transport Information

• Users can also access additional transportation information related to HKUST, including operating hours for the school shuttle bus and links to MTR and KMB webpages. This comprehensive approach ensures that staff and students are well-informed about all available transport options.
